Information/Referral Specialist

Maria is the Information & Referral Specialist at After Hours Project, Inc. (AHP). She works for the Syringe Exchange Program and has been with the organization since November 2010. She started as a Treatment Readiness Specialist providing direct treatment readiness services to active drug users. She enjoys helping others and is focused on educating and empowering clients to live healthier lives. Maria understands the importance of empowering individuals to make positive changes in their lives. She is able to engage participants with her message of hope and recovery. She believes that everyone deserves a second change and helps clients understand that there is much life after they conquer their addition.

Prior to joining AHP, Maria worked for Turning Point as a Case Manager. Collectively, Maria has worked in the field of harm reduction for over eleven years. She personally understands addiction and the adversity that she has overcome has given her the passion for this line of work. She has a unique way of relating with her clients and is committed to their care and well-being.

Maria has an Associate’s degree as a Medical Assistant from Interboro Institute.
