Programs & Services
Syringe Exchange / ESAP
The Syringe Exchange Program and the Extended Syringe Access Program are the primary means by which sterile syringes are accessed by clients and used syringes are collected by AHP for proper disposal.
Overdose Prevention
AHP staff educate our clients and the public about safer drug user and overdose prevention. Staff offer training in how to counteract overdoses and they provide Narcan to people who complete the training.
Mobile Outreach Services
Mobile services are the primary way that ESAP-related materials are made available to a wider audience in Brooklyn & Queens. Access to medical treatment is facilitated through transportation services for clients.
Housing Services
Our rapidly expanding housing and rental assistance program provides fully-furnished apartments to more than 50 clients and rental assistance to an additional 240 clients.
Case Management
People living with HIV/AIDS need a broad range of supportive services, especially those who are uninsured, Medicaid ineligible or undocumented. AHP’s Case Management Services assist clients with their needs, including negotiating care with other providers.
Wellness Center
AHP provides a variety of services, both in-house and across the wider community, that bolster client health and wellness. Among these are included:
- Treatment Readiness Services
- Mental Health Services
- Health Education and Counseling
- HIV, HCV & STI Testing
